In the National Defence Academy, the selection procedure consists of three stages, all of which have to be passed in order to gain a place as a cadet in the National Defence Academy and later to get commissioned as an officer in the Indian Army. The selection procedure is conducted by UPSC.

NDA Selection Process 2023 – Written Exam

First of all, the candidates must take a written exam as part of the NDA Selection Process. The NDA Selection Process is an objective examination consisting of two papers – Mathematics and General Ability – each consisting of 900 marks. Only candidates who achieve the minimum cut-off scores of the recruitment process will be considered for the SSB round.

For a candidate to be prepared for the written test, it is important to familiarise himself or herself with the syllabus for the NDA exam and the exam pattern for the NDA exam.

NDA Selection Process 2023 – SSB Interview

All candidates who have passed the written test and meet all of the requirements for NA and NDA posts are interviewed by the Services Selection Board (SSB), and then you receive a call letter informing you of the interview date, time, and location. The call letter consists of all the important information regarding the interview.

  • In order to qualify for the SSB interview round, candidates have to pass two different tests, namely a psychological aptitude examination and an intelligence test.
  • The entire process for the SSB Round is completed within around 5 days after the first round of tests is completed. Only candidates who have passed Phase 1 will be considered for Phase 2 for the remaining tests.
  • The Computerized Pilot Selection System (CPSS) is the selection system used by the Air Force to choose candidates for entry into the service.

NDA Document Verification

During the NDA Selection Process, there is a crucial step of document verification and submission. On the day of the interview, the selected candidates must have their documents with them to be verified. The following documents are required as part of the document verification process:

  • 0th or 10+2 certificate as proof of education.
  • Caste certification for eligible applicants.
  • Proof of Identification.
  • Proof of Residence.

NDA Medical Examination

In the event that the recommended candidates have been selected by the SSB, they must appear in front of the medical board. Approximately four to five days are required for the medical board to complete at each military hospital. The medical board president will oversee the appeals and review processes for candidates, after which the applicants are dispersed.

  • Candidates who are deemed unfit by the President Special Medical Board may request a review or an appeal based on a recommendation from the President Special Medical Board.
  • In order to carry out a medical examination as part of the selection process for NDA candidates, a Board of Service Medical Officer will carry out an examination at the Military Hospital.
  • There is an additional requirement for female candidates, in addition to the standard check-up, a detailed gynecological, obstetric and menstrual history must also be provided.
  • In addition to the results of the medical examinations, the decision to select a candidate for the NDA will also be determined by the results of the interview.

NDA Selection Process 2023 – Merit List
